We mitigate symptoms of stress and trauma like depression, anxiety, and hyper vigilance through nervous system regulation and mind-body awareness.
What are the benefits of yoga?
The Journal of Traumatic Stress estimates 89% of adults have endured a traumatic event. Research has shown trauma to be stored as somatic memories, manifesting as hormone imbalances, over-alert nervous systems, inflammation, and tight muscles. This means most adults are left with biological imprints on the body that result in negative mental and physical health outcomes. Regular practice of yoga minimizes inflammatory responses to stress, mitigating individuals’ responses to stressful and traumatic situations that lead to poor health. Our classes can:
Provide a safe place to experience relaxation and calm
Release physical and emotional tensions
Prevent and ease chronic pain
Enable people to experience the body as a place of safety and connection
Teach techniques for coping with stress
Help develop self-awareness, self-love, social awareness, and empathy
Accessible to all, our classes include:
Breath Work
Every class includes breathing techniques that help regulate the nervous system and cope with stress.
Meditation & Mindfulness
Moments of meditation provide a quiet space for the body and mind to find center and act from intention, not reaction.
Movement
Movement is tailored to each group’s mobility level and goals, and is always sustainable and trauma-informed.
Our team of trauma-informed yoga teachers has worked with virtually all age groups and ability levels. We love bringing yoga to your clients or students, or to your staff team who faces burnout due to working closely and compassionately with the effects of trauma.
